The Course
The Kendleshire now
boasts 27 holes of
exciting and
challenging golf.
The original layout
(the 'Hollows' and 'Ruffet'
9-hole courses)
was opened in May
1997 with the third
nine (the
'Badminton') coming into
play in July 2002.

Water comes
in to play on 18 of
the holes with the
9th, 11th, 16th,
18th and 27th being
the most infamous.
The 16th and 18th,
on the Ruffet
Course,
have become
notorious for
destroying good
scores however the
island green 11th
has become the hole
that most visitors
have heard about and
can’t wait to play.
A carbon copy of the
17th at
Sawgrass in most
ways, even the
better players are
pleased to leave the
green with a three
on the card.
Peter
McEvoy the architect of
the third nine is
famous, for amongst
other things, his
sloping greens normally
surrounded where
possible by water
hazards. The greens on
the Badminton Course
at The Kendleshire are
typical of this and have
already attracted many
fans amongst the better
players because of the
need for precise shot
making and first class
putting.
In its relatively short
history the club has
already hosted several
Euro Pro Tour events. It
was voted amongst the
top ten new courses in
Britain in Golf World’s
poll in 1997. It’s
greatest compliment
however, is the number
of times that visitors
return. You will always
find a warm welcome at
The Kendleshire along
with as many pars and
birdies as your game
deserves!

Kendleshire include The
West of England 4 Ball
